8 Posts For My 8 Months Break: Part 6

Hey guys!

Ready for post 6? It’s a slightly heavier post, it’s not as cheery as what you’ve read over the past couple of days, but still a very fruitful time for me.

My fifth job was one I didn’t see coming. You guys know that I am a crazy planner. I like to be in control of what is going on in my life as much as possible, so I usually do have my plans planned out. But for this job, I was really just talking to a friend and she was like hey, the place I’m working at is hiring, would you be interested? And since I was just staying at home all day long, and it was a weekend job, I thought, why not? I could spend my weekdays building One Step, and my weekends making some extra cash. It sounded like a great plan!

So I did it. I became a warehouse assistant. My job scope was basically packing items for customers when they bought groceries online. It was pretty fun at first, I’m not going to lie. The people I worked with were amazing and I formed many fast friendships there. Then there were some new people who came in and as all of us worked together, there were some conflict here and there and it didn’t end on a fantastic note. All in all, I was working there for about a month, slightly more.

I still learnt a lot from this gig though. Not so much hard or soft skills like I did in my previous jobs, but a lot of life lessons were picked up in this period of time. I may or may not go into detail about this online, we’ll see how it goes, but I’ll reveal this much at the moment. I was hurt by what happened, but I’ve journaled and I’m on the path to recovery.

I kept in contact with the people there though, for a while. Not anymore. But still, in this section of the post, I still want to thank them. To the people I worked with, thank you for the good memories we had. Thank you for teaching me everything you guys did. I was easy enough to replace, but thank you for letting me know where I stand. I wish you guys all the best on your own paths. Like the online quote says, I still want to see you guys eat, just not at my table.

So that’s that. That’s the end of that chapter. The next one is pretty awesome, so be sure to come back tomorrow! Cya!
