Giving Soulfood #39

Grow through what you go through.

@thehappyquoters

Hey guys,

I’m sorry that I disappeared without a trace for slightly over a week, but I’m thankful for all of you who are still here with me. The past week or so has been a difficult one, and I genuinely really just needed to step away from social media for a little while. Writing for these post have always just been a little bit more taxing, because I’m always just writing about my feelings and that in itself, requires me to be in a decently good place for the things I write to even be remotely positive sounding.

There is simply too much negativity going around on social media so my stand has always just been that if I have nothing positive to add, I’d rather just stay away for a little bit.

But in this break that I took, I was reflecting on everything that I was doing online as well. And I felt that I got way too caught up in the fluff of things. The essence of this page was really just to spread some form of positivity around, and in a way, get me to write a little more.

I was also thinking about my future plans for this page, because with school starting soon, I really wasn’t confident of my ability to maintain the level of involvement that I have now.

I will be releasing a post on my blog soon, to update everyone on my future plans on all of my platforms, but till then, things will remain roughly the same here. I will be removing the media component of the posts, because like I mentioned, the fluff was starting to get in the way of the main goal of each post. I sometimes ended up spending more time editing those media content rather than writing something of substance.

But I thought this quote would be quite apt for a comeback. Grow through what you go through. Everything that you go through has a purpose. And there will always be two sides to every situation. You can either let the situation hurt you or you can harness lessons from the situation to become a better you. Ultimately, that power lies in each and every one of us. And this is why empowerment is such a powerful tool. See yall tomorrow:)
