Hello!!
So I just wanted to love a little more content over here from my old blog and kinda just show you guys what other weird things I’ve tried to do in the past hehe.
This one right here is a real time travel log of my trip to the US, I’m working on the Photobook already so I should be able to post it soon.
Also I copied this directly over from the old post so the greeting may sound a little weird in terms of the timeline. But here goes…
Hey guys!! I’m in USA now and I’ll be doing a travel log here! I’m not completely sure how to add in the pictures from here so maybe I’ll do that when I get back to +65
3 December 2017
5.40pm
We touched down at New York at around 3.40pm and the weather was totally worth the 5 hour delay and the 23 hour flight. It’s 5.40pm now and it looks like it’s 10pm. We passed by Bronx and New Jersey (I think) and it’s pretty much snooze time for me until we reach Philadelphia for dinner.
10.43 pm
We are checked in to Holiday Inn in Pennsylvania!! The 5 hour delay meant we couldn’t manage to sight see today so the vacation officially starts tmr.

9.34 am
The weather is so great!! So we had a bonus itinery- The Rocky Steps. It is supposed to be a super iconic shooting location for a movie by a supposedly famous guy. It’s a really old movie appearantly, so for me, it’s just a pretty cool place for a photoshoot. Then we moved on to the actual destination of interest- The Liberty Bell and The Independence Hall. The history is rich and this is starting to feel like a history learning journey. But I mean it is pretty cool, learning about what US was like leading up to independence since I’ve only been looking at the history of when US was already a superpower. On the way to a mint now enroute to Washington!!
11.39 am
We passed by a salt farm on the freeway, which was pretty cool. Hope to be able to visit one one day.
3.23 pm
I’m craving a proper meal now… There wasn’t any hot food for breakfast because we were too early, and neither was there any for lunch. Lunch was at a cafe in a Museum (not sure of the name but it had something to do with the Museum of Natural History… it kinda looks like the one from Night In The Museum 2 and I heard the aerospace shots were taken here so that’s pretty cool) so the food really was just pretty meh. I’m craving a real proper hot meal of chicken chop or fish and chips. I’m missing the Italy tour with you uncle @reymon_ong
4.33 pm
So we went to a few more memorials just left the Lincon one and there was the Thomas Jefferson memorial before that. Just a thought though… why can’t these places be built closer together?? Like maybe side by side?? We are literally taking a 5min bus ride in between๐๐ Oohh and the Lincon memorial was cooler because that’s where the scene from Independence Day was shot. Dad is satisfied:))
5.33 pm
Woow!! Finally finished the itinery for today. We went to the “Parliment House” (not completely sure what they call it) and OMG the sunset was amazing. It looked pretty much like the kind of sunset you see when you google California sunset. Then we moved on to the White House where we saw Mr Trump having his dinner. JUST KIDDING!! We were late so the road was already closed and we only got to look at the White House from far away, across a park which was closed too. We also bumped into people having a peaceful demonstration (I think) but to be on the safe side (there were tons of police around) there was at least a 3 metre distance between us. On the way to dinner now! This gurl is hungry:))
9.09 pm
Super tired with the jetlag properly setting in now. So we had dinner (ไธญ่ฅฟๅๅนถ buffet) which was mehh and we finally found a supermarket to buy water from. We bought a carton of 28๐๐ which was $3 USD. Checked in to Sheraton Hotel for the night.
5 December 2017
11.40am
Just left Hershey’s Chocolate World. It really is a cool place and I wished we had spent more time there. Can you believe we only had 15mins to shop?? Oh the horror!! But the interactive tour was fun:)) Look out for a chocolate invasion when I return friends!!๐๐
12.01pm
It’s raining! The first we have encountered so far. ๐ค๐ปfor good weather for the rest if the trip. Thank goodness the only things we have to do left for today is to eat. There aren’t many chances to get off the bus now since it’s a long long way to go to get to Canada. Goodnitez for now:))
7.19pm
Just had dinner and on the way to the Niagara Falls. The food here is really different from my beloved +65. It’s way too salty and sweet for me so I am predominantly living on butter sugar toast and milk for breakfast… and sufficient food (whatever looks most appetising) to sustain me. The best meal of the day is usually supper which is essentially cup noodles from SG. An essential packing item in my opinion from now on. Just imagine that the best thing I ate for dinner today was a red velvet cake that I had to scrap the icing off from first. And we were at a buffet!! But those at our neighbouring tables really do seem to be enjoying their food so it does seem to be a matter of me not being used to the food here. Oh wells… I’m looking forward to my ๅบๅไธไธ tonight.
8.35pm
We just crossed Canadian borders so I have a little bit of time. Omg the falls were so fun. Yes it was damn cold. Yes the wind was super strong. Yes we were pushed along by the wind and it was difficult to walk but I would do it again in a heartbeat. It was an experience I would never forget. The falls was simply wonderful.
8.46pm
The thrills of seeing the falls have once again been dampened by the loss of an opportunity to get down the bus and shoot the falls properly
8.55pm
So prayers and complains will be answered. WE GOT TO GO DOWN!!!!!!!!!!! After 44 ่งไธๅพไบบ็ shitty pics, we finally managed to get down the bus and take good pics of the Canadian falls, just like how we took pics of the American falls. Checked in to Marriott On The Falls for the night:))
7 December 2017
6.27am
Right so I got lazy last night and didn’t post anything and fell asleep. So here it is.
We had lunch at Skylon Tower and that was a decent meal too. Again it was a meal by the falls. The chicken didn’t look like it was gonna be super nice but it was. After another long ride, we stopped by the St Lawrence’s market for a toilet break and had a drive past the University. There was a super short shopping session at Eaton Centre, and I got my books!! Yay!! Dinner was Chinese and we checked in to Delta Hotel.
8.37am
Breakfast was pretty ok (3rd decent meal!) And it snowed!! 16 and my first sight of snow! It’s so pretty!!!!!!!!!! On the way to Ottawa now.
12.39pm
4th decent meal at ้พๅ้
ๅฎถ!! The fish was small and full of eggs, and everyone said it was nice except me, so maybe it’s just that it doesn’t quite suit me. This gurl likes her fish meaty. The prawns and vegetables were all super fresh and tasty so it really is a good place to try if you are in the area. I’m not completely sure where we are but we are on our way to Ottawa from Toronto.
We stopped by the Big Apple, not New York but an apple factory. The products looked like they were diabetes in the making but it looked super aesthetically pleasing. The toilet deserves special mention because it had got to be the prettiest one I have ever seen.
2.31pm
Reached the Ottawa city centre
3.19pm
We visited the Parliment House; it was a 1.5hour journey for a 10min visit. And it seems that the tour is done for the day and we are on the way to the next stop- Montreal.
6.56pm
Dinner in Montreal Chinatown. We followed the tour guide to a Vietnamese restaurant and the boss is super nice even though he kinda reminds me of Gargamel from the Smurfs. Mom and I wasn’t really in the mood for much food at all, so he recommended a small bowl for 3 of us to share. It was really really good. The restaurant is called Pho Bac I think and is quite well known for its ็่็ฒ. The shop literally wrote ๅ็่็ฒ on its glass window. Checked in to Crowne Plaza Hotel for the night
8 December 2017
10.44am
The snow is getting heavier which is really cool. We visited the churches and had a city tour around Montreal. I recall seeing a lot of churches in Italy and a couple in Sydney but this Notre Dame one is really special. It was pretty much breathtaking to say the least. The architecture was amazing and I have to say the 46 years used to build it has definitely not gone to waste. Otw to lunch now:))
12.39pm
Currently at a shopping complex and we are having A&W for lunch๐๐ Looking back, the trip is pretty ok. I mean the travelling and food conditions can be pretty infurating at times but the snow and weather make up for it all.
2.05pm
The snow is really getting heavier now. Visibility is getting lower and it is so PRETTY!!!!!!!! I’M SUPER HIGH RN, IF YOU CAN’T TELL!!!!!!!!!
2.16pm
I forgot to mention, we are on our way to Quebec now!
3.47pm
The snow is much thicker here in Quebec and I threw my 1st snowball!! The target was Dad and my aiming skills was proven to be not too terrible:)) The christmas light are up and the city is so pretty. I think I’m gonna like it here!!
8.01pm
I do love it here. We had cup noodles for dinner cos we were too lazy to walk put after checking into Delta Hotel. We had a city tour of Quebec city, although we couldn’t see much since it was dark but it is a pretty city.
9 December 2017
8.46am
Leaving Quebec and on the way to New York now!! Time to go Taylor Swift hunting for Kennyz๐๐
11.10am
We just left a maple syrup making ‘factory’ and oh my gosh. I need to track this place down like seriously. The guide was super humourous and nice. Super friendly too. And their products are top class. We tried the tea, which is to die for and also this maple toffee thing, which is kinda like maltose candy, you know that ้บฆ่ฝ็ณ candy we enjoyed as kids. This maple version, taste just like that, minus the stickyness of the maltose candy. It just doesn’t stick to you teeth and is super smooth. This pig here had 3. As of now, we are just beginning our super long journey back to Boston, so nitez:)) I’m gonna go lock the taste of this candy in my heart *cringe*
1.19pm
We just had lunch (this local fast food chain called St Hubert’s Express). It was baked chicken and the scary part was that one person’s portion was half a chicken. It tasted really really good though, way better than the restaurants we had been to. We should have done this fast food thing days ago. Back on the road again!
11.49pm
We had dinner in which the star of the show was the lobster. I’ll admit, I’m completely useless at deshelling shellfish. So this gurl had the awesome privilege of eating lobster without deshelling anything. #perksoftravellingwithyourparents
Dad was super awesome at deshelling the lobster and I was awesome at eating. It’s pretty much a winter wonderland trip this time and I’m really gonna miss the snow when we return to my hot and sunny island.
10 December 2017
10.03am
We just visited Harvard University. At MIT now:))
10.49am
We are moving on to the city tour now but the Universities were pretty fun. We had a full blown snowball fight at MIT and the scenery was so pretty at Harvard.
1.32pm
We had lunch at Qinsley’s Market and the food is pretty ok. Moving on from Boston to New Jersey now and it’s another 4-5 hour drive.
7.04pm
The most interesting thing I did until now was to nap so there’s really nothing for me to type. ๐๐ Checked into Double Tree by Hilton for the next three nights.
11 December 2017
11.32pm
Nothing much to talk about today because it was shopping day!!
Err yes I got lazy towards the last couple of days, which were mainly shopping days so there wasn’t very much to say anyway.
See y’all on my next post!!
