Bhutan Photobook

Hello yall,

So the plans I have for this blog really isn’t restricted to short stories. I’m not that great a writer after all.

In my very first post, I mentioned that I’m into photography and travelling, so I’m going to make use of that by doing a photobook for each trip I go on. I shoot plenty of pictures on these trips anyway so I might as well pick out a few of my favourite ones and share them with yall!

So to start this off, I’m starting with one of my most recent long-haul trips- Bhutan. So let’s jump into this proper shall we?

Year of travel: 2018

Travel Companions: Way too many to list, my family + my cousin and aunt joined a Chan Brothers tour group (yup it was the one where DJ Marcus Chin went with us)

Shooting Device: 1. My camera (Canon 750D, mostly my 18-55mm lens) 2. My phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 8)

Bhutan is really an amazing country. There are pretty much zero traffic lights in the country but they are the best drivers I’ve seen, they have like 6 planes in their national airline but no other airline can fly you there and the people there are the nicest I’ve met! The Bhutanese really live a simple way of life, it’s quite close to what we would call the ‘Kampong lifestyle’ and I really enjoy that. I 10/10 would recommend everyone to go there at least once!

The main highlight of the trip would definitely be conquering the Tiger’s Nest. The Tiger’s Nest is this temple situated up on a mountain and a lot of people come to Bhutan just to conquer this mountain and visit the temple.

^ That photo really doesn’t do the climb justice.

So yea, I really enjoyed the trip because that was when I really reconnected with nature and the slow pace of life was really nice for a change.

It was also a trip that was filled with fulfilment, because I never ever thought that I would successfully hike up the mountain when the MacRitchie Tree Top Walk almost killed me just barely a week before my trip. As cliche as this sounds, anything is possible when you give it a shot. In fact, I’m starting to realise that MacRitchie is a pretty good training ground if you want to train or just get a feel of what the Tiger’s Nest would be like. It’s not a close replica, but it more or less gives you a feel of what to expect.

I hope you enjoy scrolling through the slideshow below! Check out my insta-story to watch my attempt at vlogging as I trekked up this mountain.

Alright, so that concludes my first photobook. I’m still an amatuer where photography is concerned so please tolerate if some of the photos are oddly framed or whatnot. Also, all these pictures are NOT edited, it’s the original shots. If you ever want to use my pictures for whatever reason, by all means, but please do credit me! Just drop me an email or DM, I’d love to check out the content that you are creating as well!

Till my next post, cyaa!!
